Northampton: Reported sighting of a large snake

POLICE were called today (Tuesday 9 March) at approximately 9.30am to a reported sighting of what is believed to be a large snake in the undergrowth at Lingswood, Northampton.

It is believed the snake may be a green Burmese Python and several feet long.

Although these snakes are not known to be dangerous, members of the public are advised not to approach it, keep a safe distance away from it and immediately call the police on 999 or the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999.
 
Witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information, should call Northamptonshire Police on 03000 111 222 - alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
