Police in Kettering recovered two cars that were causing an obstruction after complaints from local residents who were unable to enter their street. The two cars were blocking Haweswater Road in the town on Tuesday evening, stopping people from accessing their homes. PC Steve Beal from the Kettering South West Safer Community Team, said: “We received a number of calls from local residents who were unable to reach home because of these two cars. “They were parked illegally and causing an unnecessary obstruction, not allowing traffic into the residential area and hindering a considerable amount of people. “As a result of the calls from the public we went out and issued £30 fixed penalty notices. We then arranged for the cars to be removed from the road. Both drivers then faced a £150 fee for their cars to be released. “Following this incident and because parking in this area is already a concern for local residents, we will be conducting regular patrols in the area and taking action against anyone else who parks illegally or inconsiderately.” To find out more about the work of the Kettering South West Safer Community Team, log on to www.northants.police.uk/sct or call 03000 111 222.
