Northamptonshire Police Authority is planning to build a new Criminal Justice Centre on Northampton Business Park, Brackmills, Northampton. The Criminal Justice Centre is a new type of building that will provide the full range of facilities needed to deal with people detained by police on suspicion of committing an offence.
The new Centre will be built to high design and environmental standards. There will be office accommodation for police, lawyers and other criminal justice staff, and a 50-cell custody suite for people being held during investigation. The Centre will replace and upgrade existing outdated facilities in Campbell Square, Daventry and Weston Favell police stations. This new centre will ensure Northamptonshire Police is in a solid position to respond to projected growth in population in the county.
A planning application for the Centre will be submitted in October 2008. A series of consultation events will take place over the summer to make sure you are aware of the plans and have a chance to let us know what you think.
